# Season Structure

Season 3 consists of four weeks of competition, during which you will compete to improve your leaderboard rank and qualify for the tournament.

### **Ranking Criteria**

Players in each Chapter are ranked based on their:

* in-game activity (**Game Points**)
* contributions through the Hero Duty App (**Hero Points**)
* successful player referrals (**Social Points**)

### **End-of-Season Rewards:**

Players are rewarded based on their final standing after the end of the season.

### **Ship and Hero Progression:**

* Seasons play a pivotal role in [Spaceship](/economy/spaceships.md) upgrades and [Hero advancements](/economy/heroes/levelling-up.md).
* You keep your ship and Hero progressions for the whole Season.

### **Leaderboard Intensity:**

* The [Main Leaderboard](/economy/leaderboard.md), resetting with each chapter, fuels intense competition among players.
* Strategic decisions during a season impact a player's position and potential rewards.

### **Premium Visuals and Strategy:**

* Premium visuals provide more than just aesthetics; they also affect the acquisition of StarScore through the Eternal Level.
* The seasonal nature adds a strategic layer to colour selection and its potential impact on the leaderboard scoring.
